Howie Hearn likes to say he was raised on the site of an ancient burial mound; a metaphor for having grown up in Phoenix, wondering about the ones who lived there before. Now he lives and works in the cinder hills east of Flagstaff, Arizona, with a different but similar bunch of spirits in charge. He pretty much just works in metal these days, doing some ancient style and some figure drawings.

The pieces on this site are his original artwork, some inspired by petroglyphic images found on rocks here in the Southwest, some based on the rest of the world. The galleries are grouped by style, mostly. The pieces in Gallery One are available in any size from 10 inches tall to 4 feet by 8 feet. He makes furniture and railings using these figures as well.
